The Velvet Hills Show Chorus has been a chapter of Sweet Adelines International for over 40 years! We currently have ~100 members and growing. We are united in our love of singing 4-part unaccompanied Barbershop harmony. Our Director is the dynamic Kathy Carmody. We rehearse each Monday night from 7-10 p.m. and have extra weekend coaching sessions several times a year. In addition to performing in the community on a regular basis, we participate in the annual Rocky Mountain Region 8 chorus competition.
Our members have many opportunities for learning and improving musical skills. Individual instruction is available with Lila Mori, local professional singer and voice instructor. In the continuing quest for musical excellence, we regularly bring in nationally renowned coaches (e.g., Peggy Gram, Betty Clipman, Jim Arns, Renee Porzel, Ase Hagerman, Carol Kirkpatrick, Sharon Babb, Marge Bailey and Darin Drown).
The Velvet Hills Show Chorus does not discriminate, nor will it tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, national origin, religion, age, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, gender expression, marital status, and/or political affiliation. This policy applies to all Velvet Hills members, volunteers, clients and contractors. We are committed to creating learning environments free of any form of harassment and/or oppression.
